Royston & District Model Aircraft Club is committed to ensuring that members privacy is protected, as required by the UK Data Protection Act 1998, Royston & District Model Aircraft Club use strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information, to prevent unauthorised access. Royston & District Model Aircraft Club’s procedures mean proof of identity will be required before Royston & District Model Aircraft Club are able to disclose sensitive information held about a member to them.
This Policy explains how Royston & District Model Aircraft Club use the information collected from the members, how a member can instruct Royston & District Model Aircraft Club if preferred to limit the use of that information and procedures that Royston & District Model Aircraft Club have in place to safeguard members privacy.

When a member joins or renews their membership, or uses any online form on the website Royston & District Model Aircraft Club need to know the member’s name and other information, such as postal address, e-mail address and telephone number. By submitting this information, you consent Royston & District Model Aircraft Club to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy as amended from time to time.
The relevant information is then used by Royston & District Model Aircraft Club, their agents and sub-contractors to provide the member with access to the club’s facilities as requested and to communicate with them on any matter relating to the provision of the club in general

British Model Flying Association (BMFA) – for insurance purposes
If, at any time, a member wishes to have information removed from our Royston & District Model Aircraft Club databases, they should send an e-mail to info@roystonmac.co.uk
Royston & District Model Aircraft Club will take steps to ensure that the information is deleted as soon as reasonably practicable. Under current legislation and for insurance purposes this will only be removed when the membership expires.
Updating details – If any of the information that the member has provided changes, for example change of e-mail address, name or postal address, the member should inform Royston & District Model Aircraft Club of the correct details by sending an e-mail to info@roystonmac.co.uk
Changes – If Royston & District Model Aircraft Club change this Privacy Policy Royston & District Model Aircraft Club will post the changes to the main club website so that a member can at any time check the current policy. If Royston & District Model Aircraft Club make any changes that may significantly affect the way they deal with members information, they will also e-mail the members to notify of the proposed changes so that the members may have details removed from records if the member does not agree with the changes.
